ESSENCE MAGAZINE BUSINESS NEWS: BOB MEADOWS HAS BEEN NAMED DEPUTY EDITOR

Bob Meadows has been named the deputy editor at Essence Magazine. He is described as being an esteemed journalist.
He's a native of Detroit, and has interviewed some of the world's biggest stars -- from the late Michael Jackson to Bill Cosby -- while also excelling at human-interest stories. Prior to ESSENCE, he spent the last 11 years as a writer, editor and reporter with People magazine. In 2009 he also led a five-person team in the redesign of the publication Time for Kids.
Previously, Bob Meadows was the Minority Affairs reporter at the Charlotte Observer. He was a key player on a team nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for an extensive series on Charlotte, North Carolina's poorest neighborhoods.
